Pioneer '79 is a
swimming club based at Hyndburn Leisure Centre and is affiliated to the ASA:
we have the use of two excellent pools in Accrington & Blackburn. We have over 300
swimming members of all abilities and the club is run by parents and friends on a voluntary basis.
Pioneer '79 provides teaching and training for children and young adults to
a very high standard.
Successful Club
Pioneer '79 is recognised as a
successful club and as such attracts some of the best swimmers in the area.
A high standard of coaching is needed to prepare these children for National
competition and all the swimmers benefit from these very high standards. Many
children in Pioneer '79 do not set their sights so high and there is no pressure
on them to exceed their preferred targets but even the weakest swimmers can
achieve so much more with perfect stroke.
Qualified Coaches
As with all sports, technique is
everything and the teachers and coaches with Pioneer '79 are all ASA qualified
and use approved methods to help the swimmers develop correct technique.
Swimming is Fun
Much of the success that Pioneer
'79 enjoys is down to the fact that the members enjoy swimming for a successful
club. They make a lot of friends within the club as do many parents.
